Thick Açai Protein Smoothie Recipe

Açai bowls are among my favorite smoothie recipes. And that means a lot coming from me, since I make smoothies basically every day. But this specific Thick Açai Protein Smoothie Recipe, is my #1. I find that I make it multiple times per week and it's my go-to smoothie after a workout. Let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
  • a dash of milk or water
  • 1/2 cup of frozen açai drops
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter (100%)
  • granola
  • fresh raspberries

This is how you blend up this beautiful smoothie:

  1. Freeze the bananas overnight. You can buy the acai and blueberries frozen in the supermarket, but I prefer to freeze bananas myself because then you can use very ripe bananas. And they're way sweeter than any frozen bananas you can buy in the supermarket.
  2. Let all the ingredients thaw for 30 minutes before blending.
  3. Add it to a blender with a power of at least 1200W. I personally use a Vitamix Explorian E310. 
  4. Add milk & a scoop of vanilla protein powder. 
  5. Blend this all up for about 30 seconds to 1 minute on low speeds. To longer you blend the smoothie, the less thick it will be.
  6. Add this to a coconut bowl and add the toppings
